Course Details

This course is delivered by NPT Heart’s qualified Trainers and Assessors over a 15-week structured program which includes 3 weeks of ‘hands-on’ practical workshops at our Training facility in Mitcham, Victoria.

The course has been designed as a mixed-mode delivery program that includes e-learning, pre-reading workbooks, pre-recorded tutorials and assessments, coupled with fortnightly tutorial workshops and face-to-face weekly blocks of practical workshops.

The compulsory face-to-face practical workshop workshops are conducted over 3 blocks of 5 days which are held at weeks 6, 12 and 15.  These workshops generally run between 08:00am and 3:30pm daily however some days may start earlier and for a longer duration.

In addition to the 3 weeks of face-to-face practical workshops, students will be required to participate in fortnightly tutorials of 90-120 minutes, which allow students to engage with a trainer focusing on the key learnings of each unit.  Between each tutorial session, students are required to complete their e-learning, pre-reading, and assessments.

Following completion of the online course work and face-to-face practical workshops, students will need to complete 80 hours of work placement.  Students will need to complete a minimum of 8 x 10 hours shifts.  Work placements can be facilitated through National Patient Transport.
